The teacher was then told by the principal to leave and stay away from the school until an investigation was conducted.
According to the East Chicago Police Department, the instructor was able to depart the premises before they were contacted by the school four hours after the event. However, as soon as police were alerted, they quickly called the Criminal Investigation Division, which contacted the Lake County Prosecutors Office to request an emergency detention order for the instructorOn Thursday at around 11:15 a.m., Carrasquillo-Torres was brought into custody by the East Chicago Police Department without incident.
